not just france has a better healthcare system, the uk does too, the nhs, so i hate it when americans who have to pay 'health insurance', say we in europe live in rubbish countries, least our governments care!

i think that we might aswell just concede that both sides of the napoleonic wars were made up of coalitions, no one country can claim outright victory.and anyway britain and france should be leading europe together, as allies like when we defeated the germans in both world wars, and the russians in crimea and when we got battered in suez (lol) and put our powers together to lead an eu that rivals the usa

@Freez57fr ok stop saying ENGLAND im not ENGLISH im BRITISH. waterloo was a coalition (with a british backbone), in that your right, but trafalga was not even a british vs french battle, it was a combined force of french and spanish ships! another naval defeat was the Nile which effectively ended the french occupation of egypt.I think we can both agree that the 100 years war was similar to the napoleonic wars in that in was not a single war, but composed of many being won by the oppsing sides

If you want to compare a real fight between France and Britain, take the ONLY war where England fought ALONE against France in a fair fight: 100 years war.100 YW was the only fair fight against our both countries.France vs England and not France vs England + several several of her allies on the continent to do most of the fights against the French.And we all know what happens when you have not allies.

Britain fought Napoleon until the last drop of Austrian, Prussian and Russian blood.Britain never fought a major battle against Napoleon, except Waterloo (and they spam it everywere, that's why these battle is so famous, while MANY other battles are more important in Napoleon's fall like Leipzig).Waterloo: 20% of Brits, 80 % of Germans/Dutch/Prussians-> British are fucking thiefs only good to steal the credit of the others.

Now the Napoleonic wars have been won by the Brits...Laughable....But like your American friends, you're only good to steal the credit of the others.Except Trafalgar, ALL your victories have been won because you attacked few French detachments while the real French army was fighting in REAL battles the REAL winners and opponents of France: Prussia, Russia, Austria...The British think they beat Napoleonic France what a joke...It would like saying that Britain beat Nazi Germany.

Of course the British prefer attacked little rocks lost in the ocean (defended by 50 french) than help their allies on the continent in the major battles of Austerlitz, Jena, Wagram, Borodino, Leipzig and many others.Don't make me laugh with your "British victories".Trafalgar is the only one you deserve.

Napoleonic wars were a string of french successes but overshadowed by an entire book of defeats to the british, mainly naval but also in portugal, waterloo etc, but despite french victories against mainland europeans, french colonies were captured by the british, crucially india and canada, both of which would be speaking french if it werent for british victories.

@Freez57fr 1. america didnt defeat japan by itself, british (burma, malaya, singapore), british commonwealth (papua), nationalist and communist chinese, and the ussr at the end all fought the japanese and all suffered great losses alongisde americans.

It's an Anglo Saxon thing I am afraid, winning wars being superior to all others, a lot of anti French prejudice has been handed down from their English ancestors, prejudice can take centuries before its shows any sign of dilution. They say the same things about the Italians and the Greeks.Even amongst themselves they argue, The Australians think they are braver than the English, the English think they are braver than the Americans, and quite often the Americans think they are superior to all! |
