And what exactly are these "problems," huh? So help me -- if you claim a "problem" is non-white/non-christian immigration, I swear I'll come down on your ass harder than a pro-wrestling piledriver ...

I don't like this video. This isn't Norway. Don't get me wrong, it's a really good country and all, but this is too much. It doesn't say anything about our problems, just go on and on about great it is. I mean, what's is up with the lighting, music, pictures of people having fun and the arts and the "good stories" etc? What is this? "Heaven"?"Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting what they want for dinner." - Kristin Halvorsen (SV)

As well you should, "Fotolus." Norway has the LOWEST murder rate on Earth -- something that MUST be imitated worldwide. Plus, its balance of free expression and free social services defies that idiotic libertarian/stalinist Cold War dichotomy. As far as Norway's prison system, Russia's greatest author, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, said it best ..."The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons."... in which case, Norway is the most civilized place on Earth.

ADEAL918, seek professional help. Is there a psychiatrist in the house?Actually, terrorism must not be that big of a threat -- as desperate as Israel is for soldiers, yo' ass is STiLL here, being redundant as Hell, on an obscure website, instead of putting your money where your mouth is and enlisting to personally fight terrorists. Put up or shut the fuck up, chickenhawk. Then again, Dickless Cheney avoided 'Nam via college and marriage deferments, so maybe you're following his footsteps.

Try sponsoring and supporting terrorism against us, buster. That's a pretty damn "concrete example." WMD's or not, Saddam Hussein blatantly called for more attacks against the U.S. That, combined with credible intel that he did, in fact, have WMD's--no matter how wrong it turned out to be with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, amounted to more than a credible threat. By the same token the Taliban HARBORED AL-QAIDA. THAT'S A THREAT TO THE U.S.!!!! Those are the only actual wars we wage now
ADEAL918 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
As to "name those nations"--I assume you mean the countless alternative, independent, self-defining nations that have emerged just fine without so much as a PEEP from the U.S., blowing a gigantic, gaping hole in your bullshit theory about the purposes of our wars, Norway would be a PERFECT example of this. Their system in many ways is the COMPLETE opposite of ours, in some ways for the better, in other ways for the worse. But we have no desire to change them, b/c they don't threaten us
ADEAL918 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
This is not to say there aren't nations that we have a military presence that really isn't necessary. Germany, Japan, even South Korea for example. These presences basically waste money and manpower and do nothing to advance our security because our presence in these nations is no longer necessary for security purposes. But here too, we aren't trying to change their culture or civilization, which is a necessary qualification to be labeled an "empire." That's historical reality, like it or not
ADEAL918 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
There is no "U.S. empire"--not since the McKinley administration. Having a military presence in a nation does not constitute an "empire" unless you are trying to control those nations' people, which we are not. We are only trying to preserve security in many of them. We have no beef with how any of them live their lives, nor do we have any desire to change them. THOSE are the characteristics of an "empire."

YOU'RE the one repeating yourself, and can't back ANYTHING up. Sorry buddy, those are the FACTS about my loyalty or lack thereof. I have voted for BOTH parties, have ZERO party affiliation, and am loyal only to the safety and security of this nation--"complex" or otherwise. And by the way, I have plenty of problems with the way we have handled things militarily in the past. My biggest issue remains intelligence matters, not necessarily military ones. Nice try buster. GET FUCKING LOST!!!!
